Helping Hospital Bookplate

Dear Readers,

I make mistakes. A lot of them. Including in my books, which get reviewed a million times before going to print. But sometimes things slip through the cracks. Which unfortunately was the case with my book, HELPING HOSPITAL. I did extensive research for this book. I reviewed it many, many, MANY times with my editor, art director, book designer, and copy editor. We also had THREE medical experts review it before going to print, too! I say all this because I want to make it clear how much work truly goes into the two year long process of making a picture book by everyone involved. And yet, mistakes can still happen. I am human.

The first edition of HELPING HOSPITAL includes an error listing a physician’s assistant as a doctor and a psychiatrist as an advanced practitioner. Obviously, this is incorrect. Somehow these two positions were mixed up. I’m not entirely sure how this happened, or how I missed it in all the passes I reviewed, but I did. My apologies to all my readers.

To accommodate those of you who have already purchased my book and for future HELPING HOSPITAL readers, HarperCollins Publishers and I have created a bookplate for readers to print, cut out, and adhere to their copies of the book. This bookplate reflects the correction so that HELPING HOSPITAL provides accurate information to readers. In the future, this will be corrected through a reprint, but until then, I hope that readers will find this to be an acceptable alternative to preserve the integrity of HELPING HOSPITAL.

Thank you,

Lindsay Ward
